Colleen Powell

Determined to make a difference in Telford, Colleen Francesca Powell founded More Than Care in 2019 completely on her own — with one clear mission: to help older, isolated adults reconnect with their community, build friendships, and live fulfilling lives.

What started as a small, passionate vision has grown into a professional, person-centred service regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Under Colleen’s leadership, More Than Care has evolved from a micro-provider into a respected care company known for compassion, quality and consistent staffing.

Although Colleen has now taken a step back from the day-to-day running of the company, she remains a constant source of guidance and support for our Registered Manager Carl and Care Coordinator Sian — always there to talk through difficult situations and offer reassurance.

She’s the first to say that More Than Care wouldn’t be what it is today without Carl and Sian’s loyal support and dedication. Their teamwork, shared values, and commitment have been instrumental in the company’s growth. 🦋

Carl Johnson

Carl brings over 10 years of experience in the care sector, with a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise in supporting adults who present with heightened or challenging behaviours. His calm, gentle and understanding approach ensures that both our clients and staff feel supported, respected and valued at all times.

Carl isn’t a manager who stays behind a desk — he leads by example. He’ll step in to support clients whenever needed and provides clear, informative guidance to the team. His leadership ensures all 35 members of staff are appropriately trained, confident in their roles, and equipped to deliver truly person-centred care.

Outside of work, Carl shows the same dedication and resilience in his personal life. He plays in a band 🎸 and enjoys challenging himself by running marathons 🏃 — whatever the weather. 🦋

Care Coordinator · Staff Manager

Sian Childs

Organisation, compassion and quick thinking are key — and that’s exactly what Sian brings to our team every single day.

Sian manages the daily logistics of all 35 staff members, ensuring everyone is where they need to be and that our services run smoothly. Behind the scenes, she works tirelessly to make sure each client is thoughtfully and happily matched with the right staff member, creating positive, consistent and person-centred support.

Her calm, fair and approachable manner is valued by everyone she works with — and it’s one of the many reasons she plays such an important role within More Than Care.

Outside of work, Sian’s little boy keeps her happily busy, and she enjoys spending quality time walking her dog, Alfie the Jack Russell. 🐾🦋
